Description
The projection library basic implementation which is installed by default in gvSIG provides support for very few projection types and does not allow the user to define them. One example of comment provided is (in Spanish):
No se puede seleccionar la proyección por número de EPSG (que en ppio no
habría problemas con esto), se elige un DATUM (WGS84) una proyección (UTM)
y un Huso (Huso 21) pero no se puede elegir la zona del globo SUR. Viene un
rango determinado entre los husos 1 a 60 correspondientes a la zona Norte.
In a typical gvSIG desktop installation this is not a problem because the JCRS implementation is used, but the user might choose not to install it. Also in the gvSIG educa project, in the Batoví distribution the JCRS plugin is not included, as it is based in native libraries not available in the OLPC platform.
We need a 100% java implementation which provides better support for projection definition.

New implementation based on the proj4j library created into the gvsig-jcrs project, available through the repository path:
https://devel.gvsig.org/svn/gvsig-jcrs/org.gvsig.proj
Needs some testing to check it is working as expected.
